Trail Snack Mix

Ingredients

Scale

Snack-size zip top bag

Choose two grains:                                                        

2 tablespoons round oat cereal*

2 tablespoons square corn, rice or wheat cereal*

2 tablespoons whole grain goldfish crackers

Choose once fruit:

2 tablespoons dried cranberries*            

2 tablespoons raisins                     

2 tablespoons dried apples

2 tablespoons dried banana chips

Choose one protein:

2 tablespoons sunflower seeds*

2 tablespoons peanuts

2 tablespoons almond slivers

2 tablespoons soy nuts

*Ingredients used for nutritional analysis and cost.


Instructions

  1. Wash hands; get out ingredients and zip top bag.
  2. Choose 2 grain options and add to bag.
  3. Choose 1 fruit option and add to bag.
  4. Choose 1 protein option and add to bag.
  5. Zip close the bag and shake to mix.
  6. Enjoy your Trail Snack Mix!

Notes

Change it up! Try coming up with your own options that fit into each group: grains, fruits and protein. Try to make the Trail Snack Mix with different choices each time; the possibilities are endless. Happy mixing!
