Muscogee Nation

The Eagle Adventure program brings the story of Mr. Eagle and his friends to life in a classroom setting. Built around storytelling and the exciting Eagle Play as the program introduction, children learn how staying healthy and strong can help prevent type 2 diabetes. Each school year, we partner with Muscogee Nation to bring the Eagle Adventure program to elementary schools.

Our educators have become trained to teach tai-chi and lead youth in a number of fun physical activities to promote movement and wellness. Educators have also been active in county wellness coalitions and summer diabetes prevention camps for youth.

In 2021, we also partnered to set up a story walk along Lakeshore Drive in Eufaula. The project was a joint effort with the Muscogee Nation Department of Health Diabetes Program, Friends of the Eufaula Memorial Library, Eufaula Memorial Library, City of Eufaula and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The story walk is a series of book pages on stands to encourage literacy and exercise for those living in or visiting the Eufaula community.
